How it works

A simple structure for working together.

Every consultant works a little differently. My role is straightforward – you lead the client and the strategy; I take responsibility for the creative execution. Here’s how that works in practice:

  1. 1

Bring me in when it is useful — before or after the sale

Some consultants want me on the call while the engagement is still being shaped, so the client can see the creative capability behind the recommendation. Others prefer to secure the project first and introduce me at kickoff. Both work. If you want me in the room during the sales process, I will show up prepared and let you lead.

  2. 2

I scope the creative and prepare the estimate

After we talk through what the strategy actually requires, I write a clear estimate and proposal covering scope, deliverables, timeline and cost. It is prepared for you to present, in your process, on your timing.

  3. 3

I contract directly with the client

Once the project moves forward, I establish a separate agreement with the client for the creative work and bill them directly. It keeps the business side simple — there’s no need for you to manage my invoices, build my fees into yours, or take responsibility for production. You remain the client’s marketing consultant, and I work alongside you as their creative resource.

  4. 4

We collaborate. I handle the creative.

We agree on the creative direction, then I develop the first round of work and review it with you before it goes to the client. From there, we refine as needed. You may present the work to the client yourself or bring me into the conversation — whichever makes sense for the project. I make the revisions and keep the process moving through final production.

  5. 5

    The relationship stays yours

You remain the strategist and the advisor. I do not pitch strategy work, retainers or anything outside the creative scope. When the project ends, the client's next call is still to you.

What I am not

I am not a white-label production resource hidden behind your brand, and I am not a low-cost freelancer you have to supervise. I am an independent senior creative partner you can bring into an engagement — the same way you would bring in a trusted attorney or accountant.

You stay the strategist. I am the creative expert. Both of us hold a direct, professional relationship with the client, and the client is better served because of it.

You might not need me today. But wouldn’t it be nice to already know me when you do?

Let’s get acquainted. Tell me a little about your work and the clients you serve, and I’ll tell you a little about how I work. No pitch. Just a conversation.
